As a Cloud Engineer at Catalyst, you will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud environments that support government and private sector clients. You will contribute to a range of cloud engineering and transformation initiatives including:

  • Cloud platform deployment, configuration and operational support
  • Azure, GCP and/or AWS infrastructure engineering
  • Secure cloud landing zones and hybrid connectivity
  • Identity and access management integration
  • Infrastructure automation and optimisation
  • Cloud security uplift and hardening activities
  • Support for migration and modernisation projects
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response across cloud environments
  • Technical documentation, stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer

We are looking for engineers with experience across some or all of the following:

  • Strong cloud computing skills, including experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Infrastructure as Code and automation tools
  • Virtual machines, storage, networking and cloud security services
  • Monitoring and observability platforms
  • Microsoft 365 and cloud integration technologies
  • Security and compliance best practices aligned to frameworks such as Essential Eight, ISM or PSPF
  • Solid infrastructure and systems skills, including networking fundamentals, virtualization, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Linux environments, including shell scripting, system administration, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with software development practices, such as version control, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, or similar).
  • Knowledge of databases, including design, configuration, backup, and performance tuning for relational and/or NoSQL data stores.
  • Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance considerations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., cloud provider, security, or infrastructure) and experience working with government or regulated environments are beneficial.

Australian Citizenship required for all roles with active AGSVA security clearances preferred.
