Senior HR Officer

About the role
Provide a customer-focused, solutions-driven human resources advisory service across the Public Transport Authority (PTA). You will work closely with managers and employees to support a wide range of HR functions, ensuring alignment with organisational values, policies and legislative requirements.
You will give advice across core HR areas including fixed term conversion to permanency, recruitment, performance and probation management, employment conditions, classification, redeployment and diversity initiatives. The role also supports the development and review of HR policies and procedures, while contributing to workplace investigations and public sector compliance activities.
Working collaboratively within the HR team and broader organisation, you will build strong stakeholder relationships, contribute to business improvement initiatives, and support the delivery of effective and contemporary HR services that enhance organisational capability and culture.
About You!
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience in generalist human resource management within a complex organisation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical HR solutions
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of HR policies, standards and legislation
- Experience contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Exposure to workplace investigations or public sector compliance frameworks

This is a permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. This is also a pool recruitment process, with suitable applicants placed in a pool for 12 months and may be considered for similar fixed term or permanent vacancies that arise during this period.
To be eligible to work permanently at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, have Permanent Residency status or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia.
