Our client is expanding its Governance team and is seeking two governance professionals to join a high-performing Corporate Services function. Whether you're an experienced governance leader looking to take ownership of Council processes and governance frameworks, or a governance professional with a passion for compliance, legislation and organisational governance, there is an opportunity here for you.
Working within a collaborative and highly respected Governance team, you'll contribute to the systems, frameworks and processes that support effective decision-making across the organisation while working closely with senior leaders, Elected Members and stakeholders across the business.
Governance Coordinator This is the senior role within the team and will suit someone who enjoys operating at both a strategic and operational level.
You'll lead the delivery of Council and Committee governance services, coordinate meeting processes, oversee governance projects and provide guidance across a broad range of governance, compliance and legislative matters.
The role also provides leadership to Governance Officers and plays a key role in supporting governance best practice, risk management activities and organisational compliance initiatives.
• Coordinating Committee agendas, minutes and governance processes.
• Working closely with Elected Members and senior stakeholders.
• Leading governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting risk management, compliance and governance frameworks.
• Providing leadership and direction across governance operations.
Governance Officer (Compliance)
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys legislation, policy, compliance and governance administration.
You'll play an important role in ensuring governance obligations are met across the organisation, supporting the management of policies, delegations, authorisations, Freedom of Information requests and governance registers.
You'll also contribute to governance reform initiatives and provide support to Council meeting processes when required.
• Managing governance compliance activities and registers.
• Coordinating policy, delegation and authorisation reviews.
• Supporting Freedom of Information processes and legislative obligations.
• Assisting with elected member governance requirements and training.
• Contributing to governance improvement and reform initiatives.
About You We're interested in governance professionals who bring strong organisational skills, excellent written communication and a genuine appreciation for good governance.
You may come from local government, state government, higher education, utilities, regulatory environments or other highly governed organisations.
You'll bring:
• Experience working within governance, compliance, legal or administrative environments.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational capability.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and governance frameworks.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
