About The Role
As the Registered Senior Surveyor at Daunia, you’ll lead surveying activities to support safe and efficient mining outcomes. Working within the Technical Services team, you’ll provide reliable survey data for mine planning, production, rehabilitation, and projects, while ensuring compliance with Queensland legislation and site standards.
This is an opportunity to work with modern surveying technology and autonomous mining systems in a high-performing environment. You’ll also play an important role in mentoring team members and working closely with operational and technical teams to drive continuous improvement across the site.
What You'll Do
- Lead statutory and operational surveying activities ensuring compliance with Queensland legislation, Whitehaven standards, and statutory requirements.
- Provide accurate and timely survey data to support mine planning, drill and blast, production, rehabilitation, and projects.
- Manage and maintain survey control networks, spatial data systems, and reporting processes using industry-standard surveying software and equipment.
- Mentor and support team members and contractors, promoting safe work practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with technical services, operations, and environmental teams to deliver efficient and safe mining outcomes aligned with production targets.
What You'll Bring
- Registration as a Mine Surveyor in Queensland is essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an open-cut coal mining operation.
- Strong knowledge of statutory survey requirements and mine compliance standards.
- Proficiency with modern surveying equipment, software, and spatial data systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams.
