Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced ACEM Special Skills Placement (SSP) Registrar to join the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department team.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role
The VVED SSP Registrar provides timely, safe and appropriate clinical care and advice to patients presenting to the Virtual Emergency Department as well as providing support, consultations and advice to community-based healthcare professionals within Victoria. Using video health, patients are either managed in the community or helped to navigate through the complexities of the Victorian health service.
Work can be performed remotely or onsite with this role being specifically to provide telehealth service,but will need to present all clinical cases to the EP/PEM using co-consult opportunities within the video platform. The position will include dedicated time towards the development of a personal research project. The trainee’s performance management and supervision will be by the DEMT.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
- Ability to be agile using technology to provide medical support to patients and their families
- Demonstrated a collaborative approach to patient care
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- At least 3+ years PGY experience
- Registered with ACEM as a trainee
