Every so often a pre-sales role comes up where the product does half the convincing for you. This is one of them.

I'm working with a global enterprise software client, a category leader with very few real competitors, who needs a Solutions Engineer to own the technical side of the sales cycle across APAC.

What makes this opportunity great?

  • The product genuinely solves the problem. It tackles a clear, expensive, well-understood pain — show the right person and the penny drops in the room. You walk in with something you can represent with real confidence, not fight feature for feature against five other vendors.
  • You're the technical voice, not one of many. Small, tight APAC team, you drive the technical narrative across the region, your impact is visible, and you grow faster than the equivalent climb in a big org (into an SE lead as the team scales or towards sales if that's your ambition).
  • The variety keeps it interesting. Different industries and problems, often several times a day, applying strong technology to constantly changing challenges.
  • Real scope and travel. Customer meetings and industry events across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region, a perk, not a chore.

It's a small, close-knit, autonomous team inside a global business, so it suits a genuine self-starter.

What The Role Looks Like Day To Day

  • Partnering with the Account Executives as the technical lead across the full sales cycle
  • Running discovery, then creating and delivering tailored demos and architecture presentations
  • Leading solution workshops, trials and proofs of concept, and handling RFx responses
  • Supporting partners, shaping sales strategy, and representing the product at industry events

What I'm looking for

  • Pre-sales / solutions engineering experience – whether that's a decade of it or a strong couple of years you're keen to build on (titles vary; it's the craft and the potential that count)
  • A foundation in DevOps, test automation or release management, the part that matters most
  • Salesforce ecosystem experience is preferred, but if your domain depth is strong and you're a quick learner, then this is flexible.
  • Sydney is a preference but for the right person you can be based in Melbourne
