Contract Manager

The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded tier commercial builder is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their Sydney team, with offices located in either the Northern or Western suburbs.

You will play a key leadership role on a $50M new build defence project, supported by a strong secured pipeline exceeding $200M across the region.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a commercially astute professional looking to take ownership of project outcomes, lead contract administration functions, and contribute to the ongoing success of a business known for its collaborative culture, flat structure, and consistent project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full commercial lifecycle of projects from procurement through to final account
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract management
• Manage head contract obligations, risk, and compliance requirements
• Drive cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting across the project
• Evaluate and manage variations, progress claims, and dispute resolution
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Contract Administrators and project teams
• Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure commercial and delivery objectives are achieved
• Maintain robust contract governance and accurate financial records

What you need to succeed

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience within the construction industry, with proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Senior CA capacity
• Strong background delivering new build commercial projects (essential)
• Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, procurement strategies, and contract risk
• Sound knowledge of Australian construction contracts and legislation
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (project-specific requirement)
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering or similar
