About the Opportunity

As a Health and Security Assistant (HASA), you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment at Griffith Base Hospital. You will assist in ensuring the security and safety of all staff, patients and visitors and the protection of property as well as assisting with a range of other patient-focused duties such as cleaning, patient support and administrative tasks as required. This role operates on a 24-hour, 7-day rotating roster.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • NSW Security Licence (Class 1A) and current First Aid Certificate.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Confidence using computers and security systems.
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
  • Vaccination Category A compliance (as required by NSW Health).
  • Availability and willingness to work a 24-hour, 7-day rotating roster.
  • Ability to work independently and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation, policy and professional standards.
  • Resilience and composure when interacting with distressed, aggressive, or unpredictable individuals, including those affected by drugs, alcohol or mental illness.
  • Understanding of, and willingness to support, the respectful and dignified transfer of deceased patients, including preparation for mortuary transfer or viewings in accordance with health, safety, and organisational standards.
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel as needed
