About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of automation and control system projects safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.
The role manages all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, resource coordination, stakeholder communication, technical oversight, commissioning support, and project closeout.
You will work as the primary interface between clients, internal engineering teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects in accordance with the company Project Governance Framework, including compliance with all stage gate approvals, reporting requirements, commercial controls, and risk management processes.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and resource plans.
- Provide accurate project forecasting relating to labour utilisation, procurement, costs to complete, revenue recognition, and margin performance.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including trades, engineering & drafting, systems integration, commissioning, procurement, and site personnel.
- Identify, assess, manage, and mitigate project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Chair and participate in project meetings, progress reviews, risk reviews, and client coordination meetings.
- Coordinate commissioning activities and support successful testing, validation, handover, and project closeout processes.
- Support business development, tender reviews, estimating activities, and strategic client engagement where required.
- Mentor and support junior team members and contribute to the ongoing improvement of project delivery systems and processes.
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Automation, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing industrial automation, electrical, or control systems projects across sectors such as manufacturing, FMCG, infrastructure, mining, or utilities.
- Understanding of PLC, SCADA, industrial networks and electrical systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to travel to client sites and attend interstate projects as required.
