The Opportunity

Flow Power has an exciting opportunity to join the business in a new position as Product Specialist, Energy Engineering. This role will work to deliver and develop our Energy Ready offering; a tailored energy management service offering that maximises benefit for our business customers in their electricity retail contracts.

As Flow Power continues to develop smarter in-house technology and automation capability, the Product Specialist will work in a small team focused on evolving our Energy Ready product so that we can more effectively communicate the value of behaviours and projects to our customers, and help to connect them with tools and industry partners that can help them realise these benefits.

1. Deliver the Energy Ready program in conjunction with a dedicated Account Manager to define, analyse, investigate and progress energy management initiatives, such as:

• on-site and off-site generation and storage
• load shifting, demand response & controls-based optimisation
• energy efficiency & sustainability initiatives
• energy auditing & sub metering projects
• tariff changes and demand management
• electrification & EV charging

2. Drive growth & success of the Energy Ready product offering by gathering stakeholder feedback & insights, identifying product development opportunities, establish & build industry partnerships, and advancing the customer facing analytics suite.

3. Identify, develop and embed automation opportunities that build our analytics capability and scale potential of delivery to our customers through utilisation of inhouse AI and bot-development tools, and through leveraging inhouse capability in software development.

About You

As an experienced engineer with knowledge of the energy sector and energy management principles & services, you’re ready to bring subject matter expertise to developing a market-leading technological solution that maximises value to our customers. In alignment with our company values, this role is best suited to an industry professional able to combine their engineering skills with building smarter data and AI-enabled tools.

Skills and Experience

• Degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Demonstrated experience in an energy-related business unit with objectives relating to modelling and analysis and customer-centred energy and sustainability measures.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Australian energy sector, including energy management.
• Strong, communication, interpersonal and liaison skills, including the ability to discuss complex concepts with non-experts in a clear and engaging fashion.
• Demonstrated ability to produce data-based outputs to clients in a means that communicates clear recommendations. Preferred experience with data analysis and visualisation tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and MS Excel capability
• Strong planning & time management skills.
• Working with contractors to manage site works.
• Experience with solar PV and batteries.
