Senior Data Analyst
NSW Reconstruction Authority
- Play a key role in strengthening data capability to support major program, reporting and forecasting improvements across the division.
- Temporary, full-time role up to June 2027 with Grants, Program Design and Evaluation Branch
- Role can be based in Sydney or elsewhere in NSW by negotiation with flexible work options and hybrid arrangements available.
- Clerk Grade 9/10, salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 - $142,665 + super.
About The Role
This role is responsible for delivering complex data analysis and reporting to support agency initiatives, including major transformation and uplift in program data, reporting, and financial forecasting across the division.
As The Senior Data Analyst, You Will
- Design and build data pipelines, integrating and transforming data from multiple sources to create a single source of truth, ensuring accuracy, consistency and strong data governance.
- Develop dashboards, datasets and reports using tools such as Power BI, to inform decision-making and support program delivery, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Contribute to the uplift of division-wide reporting and analytics capability, including supporting new systems, automation and improved data capture.
- Analyse system and program data to identify trends, risks, pain points and opportunities for continuous business improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop data-driven strategies, reporting frameworks, and evidence-based program and policy insights.
- Support major reform and transformation initiatives, including contributing to the design of reporting and analytics systems and ensuring fit-for-purpose data capture.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, including testing, evaluation and implementation of system and business changes.
- Establish performance metrics, reporting methods and processes to support ongoing improvements across the division.
About You
You are an experienced data professional with strong analytical capability and a passion for driving evidence-based outcomes in complex, fast-paced environments.
To Excel In This Role, You Will Have
- Advanced skills in data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik Sense, along with experience in using grant managements systems such as Smarty Grants, and the ability to undertake data linkages between these systems.
- Strong ability to translate complex data into clear insights to inform decision-making.
- Experience working across program data, reporting and forecasting environments, ensuring data integrity and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under pressure.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse groups with competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience identifying opportunities for system, process and reporting improvements.
