About the role

As Regional Director, Transport and Civil Infrastructure, you will lead the delivery of critical transport and civil infrastructure programs across the Southern Region of the Northern Territory. Based in Alice Springs, this executive leadership role has strategic oversight of capital works, minor new works, and repairs and maintenance programs that support regional and remote communities.

You will provide high‑level advice to senior executives and government, ensuring infrastructure investment aligns with regional priorities, legislative obligations, and community needs. This role plays a key leadership function in driving collaboration across government, local councils, industry and community stakeholders to achieve sustainable and effective infrastructure outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Southern Region Transport and Civil Infrastructure team to deliver regional and remote programs and projects
  • Provide strategic advice to executive management and government on planning, priorities and delivery of infrastructure initiatives
  • Oversee capital works, minor new works, and repairs and maintenance programs, ensuring strong governance, budget control and performance outcomes
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with local government, other agencies, community organisations and industry stakeholders
  • Represent the Department on management committees and contribute to regional emergency management planning and response
  • Oversee transport safety and services functions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and delegated authorities

You communicate clearly and persuasively, building trust and influence with a wide range of stakeholders. You are skilled in leading multidisciplinary teams, fostering accountability and supporting people to perform at their best. Your experience in managing large programs and budgets enables you to deliver high‑quality infrastructure outcomes that make a real difference to communities.

You also bring cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal people and communities, and an understanding of the importance of inclusive and genuine engagement across the Northern Territory.
