  • Chief Superintendent, base salary ($137,207 - $141,293), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

This role will manage and lead the daily operations of the NSW Sheriff and Justice Academy to support the training needs of the NSW Sheriff’s Office, and internal/external business areas who are clients of the NSW Sheriff and Justice Academy.

What You’ll Do

Leading the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the efficient delivery of training and assessment services to the Sheriff’s Office and internal/external client groups of the NSW Sheriff and Justice Academy.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the NSW Sheriff and Justice Academy, the NSW Sheriff’s Office Registered Training Organisation, including the design, development and implementation of the Sheriff’s Office training curriculum and any associated training programs offered by the NSW Sheriff and Justice Academy.
  • Maintain knowledge and currency of compliance requirements for Registered Training Organisations outlined by the Australian Skills Quality Authority initiating any changes or recommendations as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of programs and key initiatives in the market and across the government in a constantly changing environment to ensure compliance with relevant government policies, procedures, corporate governance and statutory requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to collaborate with managers and staff to identify training requirements, gaps in occupational capabilities and skillsets across the NSW Sheriff’s Office.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff within the area of responsibility including the implementation of strategies that promote ethical behaviour, create a safe working environment, minimise workplace issues and maximise performance and enhance skills.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Sheriff’s Office Learning and Development Framework and its alignment to the CTSD Learning and Development Framework.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or higher recognised qualification in vocational education and training.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, administration, or leadership and management; or equivalent experience
  • Current drivers licence with willingness to travel across the state as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver capability, training and workforce development programs within a complex operational or service delivery environment.
