The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is the lead agency under the Stronger Communities Cluster. Your role
As an Assistant Talent Acquisition Officer at DCJ, you will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Officers and Team Leader providing administrative support for end-to-end recruitment in our Corrective Services team.
You will be involved in a range of recruitment aspects including arranging pre-employment checks such as medical assessments, reference checks and various internal and external service checks. You will review the outcome of checks, provide timely and professional support to candidates regarding general queries, provide candidate updates on applications and request further candidate information as needed. Updating and maintaining secure records will be an integral part of your role, whilst collaborating and working closely with the rest of the team.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced team and effectively manage a range of tasks, supporting our Talent Acquisition Officers to deliver high quality talent acquisition services. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are key to this position. Your adaptability, commitment and willingness to learn will help you thrive in our team.
What You’ll Do
- Utilise the recruitment system to deliver talent acquisition services which include the coordination of interviews, testing, pre-employment checks, candidate management and onboarding
- Ensure accuracy and documentation within all recruitment systems used.
- Provide timely and professional talent acquisition service and support to stakeholders regarding recruitment assignments.
- Uphold all government and legislative polices
- Respond to enquiries, and escalate and redirect issues as required, to ensure the provision of accurate information
- Update and maintain records and databases, complying with administrative systems and processes, to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible
Essential Requirements Or Willing To Obtain
- Demonstrated experience in successfully providing business and administration support within an HR environment
- Demonstrated ability to respond, adapt and cope with changing priorities and demands
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
