Clinical Services Manager
Lives Lived Well
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced and values-driven Clinical Services Manager to lead our headspace Primary services in the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
This is a newly created leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape services at a pivotal stage of growth. You’ll provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership, ensuring services are safe, responsive and aligned to headspace National standards and community need.
Working across multiple sites and service streams, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, strengthen service integration, and support innovation in youth mental health delivery.
This role will suit someone who is grounded, relational and confident leading through complexity - someone who can balance clinical quality, governance, operational performance and people leadership, while staying focused on better outcomes for young people.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging options. The role will predominantly be based in the Gold Coast, with some travel to the Sunshine Coast.
About the Service

Our services are designed to be accessible, youth-friendly and evidence-based, with a strong focus on early intervention, functional recovery and person-centred care.
This role provides leadership across a connected service system, including:

- Student Development – supporting placements, supervision and the future workforce
Looking ahead – headspace PLUS
Southport is expanding as a headspace PLUS service, with a significant program of growth over the next three years.
This expansion will strengthen the centre’s ability to support young people with more complex needs, building capability, integration and service reach over time.
We’re looking for a leader who is genuinely motivated by this journey - someone who brings curiosity, adaptability and a long-term view of service development.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll bring together leadership, operational oversight and strategy, including:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction aligned to headspace and organisational priorities
- Overseeing day-to-day operations across multiple sites and service streams

- Managing clinical governance, quality, risk and compliance, including national headspace requirements
- Overseeing budgets, reporting and service performance to support sustainable delivery
- Driving service innovation and growth, including expansion initiatives
- Building strong relationships with headspace National, PHNs and community stakeholders
- Embedding a youth-focused, recovery-oriented culture across services
About You
You’re an experienced leader in youth mental health or a related field, who brings both clinical credibility and strong leadership capability.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex environments
- A steady, adaptable leadership style, able to navigate change and competing priorities
- Confidence in coaching, performance conversations and building team capability
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across services and systems
- Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to balance people, performance and compliance
- A commitment to youth mental health, early intervention and culturally safe practice
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or similar)
This role will suit someone who can hold the bigger picture while staying connected to people and practice.
