An opportunity exists for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading international infrastructure and construction business delivering major transport and civil projects across Australia.
This role will play a key part in the commercial delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, partnering closely with senior leadership and project delivery teams to drive strong financial and contractual outcomes.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial and contractual management of complex infrastructure projects from procurement through to delivery and completion.
You will be responsible for ensuring commercial performance, managing risk, overseeing contracts and supporting project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial and contractual management across major infrastructure projects
- Manage head contracts, subcontractor agreements and commercial negotiations
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cost controls and financial performance
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
- Support claims management, variations and dispute resolution processes
- Partner with project delivery teams to optimise commercial outcomes
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and governance requirements
- Provide commercial reporting and strategic advice to senior stakeholders
The Candidate
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager or Senior Commercial role within infrastructure or construction
- Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management principles
- Experience working on major civil, transport, rail or infrastructure projects
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced project environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Commerce or related discipline
