THE GIG
This is not your average Media Planning Manager role.
This one’s for someone who truly gets media. The strategy. The nuance. The impact. Someone who wants to sit right at the centre of proper media success while doing work that actually means something.
Reporting to an exceptional Head of Media, you’ll help shape media strategy and planning across Papua New Guinea and the Pacific, with future scope to expand into the Australian market. You’ll be hands-on with some seriously iconic brands from day one, with Coca-Cola taking up a big part of your world. Think scale, visibility, and real responsibility.

As the Media Planning Manager, you’ll own end-to-end media planning and investment across traditional and digital channels. Strong traditional media experience is essential here. Think TV, OOH, Audio, PR, Digital and more.
You’ll have a highly experienced digital team in your corner, freeing you up to lead the thinking, shape the channel mix, and make every dollar count.
You’ll also partner closely with teams across Australia and the Pacific, alongside key external partners, bringing smart insight, disciplined investment, and media strategy that actually lands.
WHAT YOU’LL BE OWNING DAY-TO-DAY
Media Planning & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end delivery of smart, integrated media strategies across digital and traditional channels, with a Digital Manager/Planner by your side.
- Nail the channel mix, audience approach and investment strategy to drive meaningful client impact.
- Turn insight into action, confidently presenting clear, compelling media recommendations alongside the Head of Media.
Media Investment & Budget Management
- Take the reins on media budgets, from pacing and forecasting through to reconciliation.
- Build strong, value-led partnerships with media owners and vendors to unlock better rates, added value and efficiencies.
- Make every dollar count, keeping campaigns on budget, on time and on brief.
Campaign Management & Performance
- Lead BAU campaign delivery and act as the go-to day-to-day media partner for PNG and Australian clients.
- Monitor, analyse and optimise campaigns in-flight to squeeze every drop of performance and ROI.
- Deliver sharp reporting, meaningful post-campaign insights and crystal-clear next steps.
- Let data lead the way, using performance insights, not guesswork, to shape future planning and investment.
Collaboration & Growth
- Work hand-in-hand with strategy, creative, digital, production and analytics teams to deliver truly integrated work.
- Build and nurture standout relationships with media partners and platform reps.
- Stay ahead of what’s next, spotting emerging trends and fresh opportunities.
- Help shape, scale and evolve Colony’s media offering into the future.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU!
- 3-5+ years as a Media Manager, Media Planner or Media Strategist in a media agency environment. Big tick, but not a deal-breaker for the right human.
- A clever brain for media planning and strategy, with the confidence to turn insight into action.
- A rock-solid grasp of the full media mix, particularly traditional media strategy and planning across OOH, TV, Audio, PR and beyond.
- Hands-on experience with planning, measurement and optimisation tools like Google Analytics, Nielsen and Roy Morgan. You know the drill.
- Proven experience owning media investment and budgets at serious scale.
- The ability to juggle multiple campaigns, priorities and deadlines across large, multi-million-dollar brands calmly and confidently.
- Genuine excitement to help lead the PNG market, with scope to expand into Colony’s fast-growing Australian footprint.
- High EQ, strong project management skills, and a desire to challenge the status quo while elevating Colony’s media offering.
- Someone comfortable working in the grey. Bringing fresh ideas, backing their thinking, and genuinely excited by the chance to shape what’s next instead of just following the playbook.
