Senior Accountant

Our client is a well-backed, internationally operating renewable energy company delivering utility-scale solar, battery energy storage system (BESS) development, green energy retailing, and distributed energy solutions including EV charging infrastructure and behind-the-meter assets.

Having entered the Australian market in 2024, our client has rapidly built a compelling pipeline of approximately 1.1GW of BESS and 400MW of solar projects nationwide. The Australian business is focused on supporting Australia's transition to a low-carbon economy and its 2030 net zero targets, backed by strong international investment capability and deep sector expertise.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a broad, hands-on Senior Accountant role sitting at the heart of our client's Australian finance function. You will own day-to-day financial operations across accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management, and month-end and year-end close, while contributing to financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit support.

With close collaboration across internal stakeholders, an international headquarters, and external advisors and auditors, this role offers genuine exposure across both corporate and project-level finance activities in a fast-growing renewable energy platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment preparation, daily bank reconciliations, and vendor and customer queries
• Maintain accurate general ledger records including prepayments, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and employee expense claims
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including preparation of journals, reconciliations, and supporting working papers
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports, including balance sheet and profit and loss reporting
• Maintain robust financial documentation and filing processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit traceability
• Support tax compliance activities including BAS lodgements, land tax filings, and income tax supporting documentation
• Assist with external audits and quarterly reviews by preparing supporting schedules and responding to auditor queries
• Provide general accounting and administrative support as required across the finance team

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a grounded, proactive accounting professional with the following background:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of solid end-to-end accounting experience, ideally gained within renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, engineering, or a related sector
• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong working knowledge of AASB and IFRS accounting standards
• Hands-on experience with Xero and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft 365 suite
• A high level of accuracy, accountability, and ownership of your work
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities
• The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across teams and functions
• Chinese speaking skills (Mandarin) are preferred given the nature of the business and key stakeholder relationships
• Full working rights in Australia are essential
