About The Role And Team

We have an opportunity for a motivated

Paralegal to join our Recoveries team on a full-time basis in our Insurance section, based in our Perth office.

We are seeking someone with prior experience in a fast-paced litigation environment, who will play an important role within the team across a variety of matters, including:

• recovery matters involving unpaid claims where liability has been accepted;
• defended matters where liability and/or quantum is disputed; and
• credit correction matters, including managing and resolving court listings affecting individuals and companies.

You will be responsible for:

• drafting correspondence and court documents;
• liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, insurers and courts;
• reviewing and analysing documents and claims material;
• assisting with the preparation and progression of matters through the Magistrates Court;
• communicating with clients and insured parties to obtain instructions and provide updates; and
• supporting settlement processes and general file management.

About You

You will ideally have the following skills and experience:

• previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role (insurance or litigation experience highly regarded);
• an understanding of, or interest in, Magistrates Court processes;
• strong drafting skills and attention to detail;
• excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of files;
• strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
• confidence engaging with clients and external stakeholders;
• a proactive and self-motivated approach to work; and
• strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and document management systems.
