Temporary full and part time (with the possibility of permanent employment) Child and Family Health nursing positions available within the dynamic, innovative NSLHD Child & Family Health Service. A Registered Nurse (RN) with Child and Family Health qualifications will find rewards in the practice which extends their role and provides a continuum of care in the support of families. The role involves working autonomously undertaking home visiting, providing child health checks, and facilitating groups. The successful applicant will have a period of orientation and once established in the team mentoring is available to develop extended skills in areas such as project management, education, and advanced clinical practice.

What you'll be doing
Registered Nurses with Child and Family Health qualifications. This is your opportunity to join a dynamic busy well-resourced Community based Child and Family Health team working with families with children from newborn to 5 years of age. Role includes home visiting, breastfeeding clinics, facilitating groups, anticipatory guidance, and health education to promote optimum development of children, supporting vulnerable families and parents with postnatal depression and anxiety. (We recommend you contact us when applying, if you are working towards a CFHN Qualification, or if you believe you have equivalent experience to a CFHN).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration,Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Current drivers licence recognised in NSW.
- Recognised post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices used when providing health services to families in their homes.
- Ability to demonstrate counselling skills, group facilitation skills and working in partnership with families.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues and other professionals both verbal and written.
- Understanding of the principles of primary health care in the context of Child and Family Health Nursing.
