In this role, you will be recognised as an expert clinician, providing advanced clinical advice and leading the development, implementation and evaluation of care for individuals with complex mental health needs. You will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, consumers and community partners to strengthen service delivery and improve outcomes for parents, infants and families.

Are You the Right Fit?

You are an experienced and confident clinician with advanced expertise in perinatal and infant mental health (or a closely related specialty), coupled with a strong commitment to clinical leadership and service development.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and the ability to manage and support care for patients with complex needs
  • Experience developing, implementing and evaluating care plans in a specialised clinical setting
  • Strong leadership capability, with the ability to guide, support and influence multidisciplinary teams
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, including the ability to translate research into clinical care.
  • Experience contributing to education, supervision and capability building within a clinical workforce
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, consumers and community stakeholders.

Most importantly, you are passionate about improving outcomes in perinatal and infant mental health and are driven to lead innovation, support best practice and make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and communities.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Describe how you have provided expert clinical advice and leadership within a defined specialty. In your response, outline how you have developed, implemented and evaluated care plans for patients with complex health needs, and how you have supported safe, compassionate and culturally responsive care.
  • Explain your experience contributing to strategic and operational planning within a clinical service. Include how you have supported or delivered specialty-related education programs, integrated research or evidence-based practice into clinical care, and participated in quality improvement, risk management and work health and safety processes.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
