About the role

As a Senior Safety Advisor, you will provide practical, frontline health and safety support across Parks Victoria, helping leaders and teams meet their safety obligations and maintain a safe and productive workplace. You will act as a trusted partner, delivering hands-on advice, coaching and guidance to embed effective safety systems, risk controls and incident management processes. The role involves conducting workplace inspections, audits, investigations and risk assessments, as well as developing safe work procedures and supporting safety committees and engagement initiatives. With a strong focus on prevention, collaboration and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in building capability across the organisation and ensuring a consistent, compliant and practical approach to health and safety.

We're looking for someone with

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety (Certificate IV in health and safety desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience working in health and safety within a complex environment
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and incident investigation processes
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and partner with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills
  • Experience planning, coordinating and delivering projects or programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines
  • Sound understanding of governance, compliance and safety standards
