This is a rewarding opportunity for an that is organised and proficient in administrative support to the Cancer Genetics Staff Specialist and Counsellors with a high level of customer focus.

  • You will be responsible for the coordination and secretarial to Department meetings, arranging travel and accommodation for local and overseas conferences, recruitment onboarding of genetics staff and managing calendars.
  • Proficiency in hospital-based systems and databases as well as other duties allocated by the clinicians and Operations Manager.

The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate

  • Experience in a secretarial role with excellent written and verbal communication skills, whilst maintaining professional customer interactions and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organisational skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office products, ability to prepare high-level correspondence including letters, Briefs and reports. Confident in dairy coordination, scheduling patient appointments, meeting preparation including minute taking and follow-up, source required information and meet deadlines, analytical and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated experience in a secretarial or administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting, including a high level of proficiency in all core secretarial functions such as diary management, meeting coordination and minute taking.
  • High level written, technical and administrative capability, including fast and accurate typing, experience with medical terminology and dictation, preparation of professional documents and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and patient administration databases.
  • Strong personal effectiveness and problem solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, communicate professionally (including telephone manner), and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and discretion.
