Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)
Salary Range: Base Salary $119,326 - $144,408 per annum + super (dependent on skills and qualifications)
Location: Dalrymple Road Depot

We’re looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to lead and support the delivery of capital works projects from planning through to completion.
In this role, you’ll manage a team to deliver civil projects safely, on time, and in line with legislation, quality standards, and organisational goals. You’ll bring strong technical knowledge of civil construction and project delivery, providing expert advice while helping shape future works programs, budgets, and maintenance plans.
Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you’ll build strong relationships and coordinate efforts to achieve the best outcomes. You’ll also keep leadership informed on project progress, resource needs, and priorities, ensuring projects stay on track and aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications And Experience
Ideally you will have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering) or qualifications in engineering, together with extensive experience in the field of infrastructure development and maintenance. Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia (Desirable).
- Diploma of Project Management or relevant equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in delivering significant civil and construction infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in providing expert advice / guidance and effective leadership and direction to construction and maintenance Technical Officers / teams and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high level experience in supporting the development of systems, processes, reporting and auditing functions for construction and maintenance related activities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction and maintenance operational practices and capital infrastructure development applicable to municipal infrastructure / assets and civil activities.
- Comprehensive experience interpreting, applying and operating in accordance with relevant acts, legislation, Australian Standards, Council bylaws, codes, industry best practice principles and engineering practices.
- "C" Class Driver's Licence + Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
