This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.

Currently, there are six (6) permanent Case Manager position(s) and one (1) permanent Senior Recoveries Officer position available for immediate filling.

About The Roles

The Case Manager, Criminal Injuries Compensation is responsible for ensuring the production of accurate and timely case management and administrative support to the judicial team of assessors and the Manager of Criminal Injuries Compensation.

This position liaises with a diverse range of stakeholders and is responsible for ensuring a quality service to victims of crime in accordance with established legislation, policies and procedures.

As a Case Manager you will provide a specialist end-to-end case management service for an allocated caseload of applications for criminal injuries compensation, including drafting a range of documents and correspondence, providing advice, information and assistance to internal and external in a trauma informed manner, and ensuring that applicant expectations are managed.

When required, the Case Manager organises applicant hearings and provides support before, during and after hearings for the Assessor, aligned to judicial support functions.

A Successful Candidate Will Possess Demonstrated Experience In:

  • Working collaboratively within a team, and with staff in other directorates and within the division, to achieve common goals and promote best practice and business improvements.
  • Achieving results by problem-solving analytically, with a customer focus.
  • Planning, scheduling and controlling daily work activities effectively and accurately to meet deadlines and priorities of the business area.

The Senior Recoveries Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective recovery of complex outstanding criminal injuries compensation debt to the State by liable offenders, where a victim of crime has been awarded criminal injuries compensation.

The position provides effective leadership and support to the recovery team, ensuring all recovery transaction and matters are processed and resolved following relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

As Senior Recoveries Officer you will work effectively within the chain of command to plan, coordinate, schedule, control and supervise the daily work activity of a small team, including performance, development, induction and leave management.

You will also provide high level, accurate advice, information and recommendations to resolve complex matters to internal and external stakeholders, in a professional and trauma informed manner.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of twelve (12) months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
