About the role

The Australia Institute is seeking a Content Producer to produce high quality creative material (online, print, press) which clearly and effectively communicates and promotes our research.

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing and executing creative material which clearly and effectively communicates and promotes Australia Institute research
  • Tailoring and adapting content to suit different platforms including YouTube, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Working in the Australia Institute’s in-house media production studio to film short form video content for different channels. including web shows, explainers, and interviews
  • Creating social media tiles based on interviews from radio and television
  • Filming and/or photographing live events, including press conferences, speeches and panel events

About You

You’ll have a knack for communicating information visually and a background in video production.

You’ll be keen to make an impact on big issues such as inequality, climate change and democratic accountability.

You’re someone who is full of ideas and can deliver them, who enjoys working with a high-performing team to get results.

We are seeking a Content Producer with:

  • Ability to work as an effective team member and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to ensure accuracy and attention to detail of information across a number of different projects on any given day
  • Experience in a media production environment, setting up cameras, lighting and audio
  • Proficient skills and understanding in social media channels, writing styles and persuasive communication
  • Ability to create visual content with minimal direction
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Ability to use in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, AfterEffects and InDesign.
  • Tertiary qualification in visual communication, graphic design, animation, film or media production, or similar.

The position is full time, on a twelve-month contract, with the possibility for renewal. Salary range starts from $75,000 to $85,000 plus super - higher salary may be negotiated commensurate with qualifications and experience.
