The Role
We’re seeking a proactive Maintenance Planner to play a pivotal role in establishing and optimising maintenance operations within a new onshore gas production facility. This is an exciting opportunity to shape systems, processes, and planning frameworks from the ground up while ensuring alignment with safety, cost, and schedule targets.
You will take ownership of maintenance planning cycles—from short-term scheduling through to long-range planning—while coordinating logistics, contractors, and cross-functional teams. Your expertise will ensure operational readiness, execution excellence, and continuous improvement across all maintenance activities.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Developing and managing integrated maintenance and turnaround plans
- Take ownership of the plan; fortnightly, monthly, 3-monthly and 2 yearly
- Building and maintaining CMMS systems, scopes of work, and schedules
- Coordinating multi-discipline teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, operations)
- Managing logistics including equipment hire, scaffolding, and site resources
- Preparing work packs, JHAs, and ensuring execution readiness
- Tracking progress, resolving planning issues, and updating schedules
- Overseeing contractor/vendor performance and compliance
- Supporting cost tracking, resource planning, and materials coordination
- Engaging stakeholders to ensure alignment across all planning horizons
- Upholding HSEQ standards, safety processes, and reporting obligations
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or Mechanical/Electrical Trade Certificate
- Valid, open C Class Driver’s Licence (manual)
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years in maintenance planning within oil & gas or heavy industry
- 2+ years’ experience using CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, Oracle)
- Strong understanding of maintenance strategies and lifecycle planning
- Knowledge of industrial equipment (pumps, compressors, valves, etc.)
- Familiarity with standards such as AS/NZS, API, ISO
- Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-discipline work scopes
- Strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and communication skills
