The Position

Fairfield City Council is seeking a capable and motivated Project Manager to join its City Delivery team and contribute to the delivery of a high-profile portfolio of community infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level Project Manager with strong design management focus and experience to take ownership of meaningful projects that directly impact the local community. The role offers exposure to a diverse mix of civil and building works within a dynamic public sector environment.

You will play a key role in shaping projects from early planning through to delivery, working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, and external agencies.

You will be responsible for managing several key projects within a major community precinct, while also supporting a broader portfolio including civic, events, and cultural infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on design coordination, stakeholder engagement, and project governance.

Essential

  • Degree in related areas such as architecture, project management, construction management, etc
  • Design management experience from feasibility to handover in various projects with different types and scales
  • Proven experience in project management at a developer, project management firm, builder or government organization
  • Solid experience in procurement, tendering, and contract administration
  • The ability to manage time, cost, and risk effectively
  • The ability to coordinate several complex projects concurrently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and standard MS Office tools
  • Strong reporting and communication skills

Salary & Employment Conditions

  • Temporary position for a period of 12 months, 70 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 9, salary range is $125,215 p.a. with progression to $138,216p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $146,674 p.a, plus 12% Super
  • Flexible working hours are available.
