About The Role

This is a permanent full-time position working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, paying $38 per hour.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will support the day-to-day maintenance, presentation, safety and functionality of the village. You’ll undertake routine maintenance and repairs, coordinate contractors, assist with preventative maintenance activities and help ensure the community remains safe, operational and visually well-presented.

This is a highly resident-facing role that requires strong communication skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to manage a variety of maintenance tasks across the village. No two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs and general handyman tasks across the village
  • Support the presentation and upkeep of community facilities, common areas and outdoor spaces
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent safety-related issues
  • Coordinate and monitor contractors where specialised works are required
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Assist with waste management, village equipment upkeep and general operational support
  • Monitor maintenance supplies and support cost-effective purchasing of materials and equipment
  • Build positive relationships with residents, contractors and team members
  • Support workplace health and safety compliance and contribute to a strong safety culture
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance village operations and resident experience

About You

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, grounds or property-related roles
  • Strong practical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • A customer-focused and approachable communication style
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual tasks
  • A current driver licence
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance and presentation

The Following Will Be Highly Regarded

  • Experience within retirement living, aged care, hospitality, property or facilities environments
  • Trade qualifications or maintenance-related certifications
  • Experience working with maintenance or facilities management systems
