A successful and market leading mutual bank is seeking a Business Banker to join their growing business banking division. This team is building out a modern, digitally enabled offering for small businesses, combining innovative products with a strong relationship-led approach. You’ll play a key role in driving lending growth, acquiring new clients, and delivering tailored financial solutions to small business customers across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage and expand a portfolio of small business customers
- Generate and qualify new opportunities through proactive business development and relationship management
- Structure and submit credit proposals across a range of business lending products
- Guide applications from initial enquiry through to settlement
- Maintain strong internal and external networks to support pipeline growth
- Ensure all activity aligns with risk, compliance, and lending policy requirements
- Contribute to a high-performing, fast-paced sales and growth environment
About You
- Proven experience in commercial or small business lending (within <$10m segmentation is ideal)
- Open to candidates in an Assistant Relationship Manager role who demonstrate strong credit & relationship management ability
- Strong track record in originating and structuring lending deals
- Confident interpreting financials including cash flow, P&L and balance sheets
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
- RG146 and/or Certificate IV in Banking is advantageous
