To help cement Australia’s strong position as a prime leisure and business destination, we’re looking for an innovative and inspiring Social Content Creative to play an integral role in representing Australia as a must-visit destination. As a social media native, this individual will help drive the creative development and execution of new and innovative creative ideas for organic social media content that creates conversations and talkability about Australia on a global scale.

This is a full-time temporary 12-month role based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements.

You will be responsible for delivering and achieving the following:

  • Leveraging your expert knowledge of social media platforms and understanding of branded content to recommend new creative direction and creative concepts that will help Tourism Australia’s social media cut through amongst competitors and encourage travellers to consider a trip to Australia;
  • Leveraging your experience with professional editing software, native Instagram and TikTok editing tools, as well as mobile editing tools such as CapCut, Edits, etc., to execute your vision, and those of the wider social media team, creating ready-to-publish content for organic social media;
  • This includes identifying trending audio to optimize for algorithmic favourability, as well as prompting, testing, and integrating generative AI tools (such as Gemini, Claude, Adobe Firefly, Higgsfield, etc.) to streamline production workflows and elevate creative execution;
  • Helping to lead end-to-end social production workflows, including writing clear, inspiring content briefs for internal studio team and agency partners, collaborating on creative execution, and providing constructive, platform-first feedback to ensure all external outputs align with Tourism Australia’s social strategy and brand voice;
  • Conducting small-scale shoots (leveraging both iPhone and pro-cam equipment) for the purpose of creating video content for Tourism Australia social channels;
  • Conducting regular creative reviews of Tourism Australia social content, competitor content and broader social content trends and deliver actionable recommendations that continually improve performance and keep Tourism Australia channels feeling fresh and new;
  • Supporting the broader Marketing Team with concepting, content creation and admin for other special projects and new or ongoing content production streams; and
  • Navigating brand guidelines and government stakeholder approvals with diplomacy, ensuring creative risk is balanced with brand safety.

Role

At Tourism Australia, we believe that creating a strong, healthy, and positive culture, is the secret to making extraordinary things happen. To succeed in this role, your profile will demonstrate the following:

  • Five or more years of experience in both creative concepting and asset production/video editing for social media channels;
  • Finger-on-the pulse of current social media news, trends and content formats and ability to integrate these into social video concepts that are fit for platform;
  • Experience conducting social media research for the purpose of delivering informed strategic recommendations for ongoing content planning/creative and ways of working;
  • Excellent understanding and experience with social media platforms including all placements, formats and available editing tools;
  • Experience creating premium and engaging content using professional video editing software (Adobe creative suit), in-app editing tools on Instagram and TikTok and mobile editing tools such as Capcut, Edits, Higgsfield etc.;
  • Experience leveraging both iPhone and pro-cam equipment to shoot social-ready video;
  • Experience in adapting different levels of ungraded broll and footage to create new content with a uniform look and feel;
  • Exceptional attention to detail balanced with ability to think creatively to implement innovative ideas and solutions;
  • Ability to articulate clear content plans (including concepts, storyboards, selects and reference materials) for the purpose of stakeholder communications and approvals;
  • Ability to manage and reprioritise competing deadlines and priorities, working to short deadlines;
  • Additional graphic design experience working within the Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required.
