Hays is proud to be partnering with a leading infrastructure organisation in Far North Queensland to recruit a Senior Facilities Maintenance Officer. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a diverse asset portfolio, delivering critical maintenance and capital works across high-profile regional infrastructure.
Your new role
Reporting into a senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring assets are maintained to the highest standard, supporting operational performance, compliance, and long-term sustainability.
You will be responsible for:Leading preventative and reactive maintenance programmes across a varied asset baseManaging plant, equipment, and infrastructure to maximise performance and lifespan
Delivering minor capital works, refurbishments, and upgrades
Preparing scopes, specifications, and tender documentation
Overseeing contractors and driving performance outcomes
Managing budgets, timelines, and project delivery
Conducting inspections and developing maintenance and asset plans
Providing clear reporting on performance, risks, and compliance
What you'll need to succeed
You’ll be a proactive and organised professional with a strong background in facilities, maintenance, or project delivery.You will bring:
Proven experience in facilities maintenance and/or capital works delivery
Strong contractor management and contract administration skills
The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Sound knowledge of WHS, compliance, and building maintenance standards
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Diploma or higher in Facilities Management, Project Management, or similarTrade background (Electrical or Mechanical) highly regarded
