Water & Waste Services – Engineering & Technical Services Temporary Full Time – 3 Year Traineeship Hervey Bay
% of Operations Level 5 - $48,205 OR minimum wage if over 21
- + annualised allowance of $1,864
- + 9-day fortnight

What we are looking for
This traineeship offers a great opportunity to gain practical, on-the-job experience in civil construction within the water and wastewater network while working towards a Certificate III in Civil Construction (Pipelaying). You’ll be part of a supportive team delivering essential infrastructure that underpins our community.
What your day will look like
- Assist with construction of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Support trenching, pipe laying and installation activities
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment (under supervision)
- Help prepare materials, tools and work sites
- Complete basic documentation, timesheets and reports
- Follow safety procedures and contribute to safe work practices

Funding Criteria
These traineeships have been made available with the assistance of funding under the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work – First Start Program. The First Start Program primarily targets young Queensland school leavers and disadvantaged job seekers considered at risk of enduring prolonged periods of unemployment and accordingly, certain information is required from applicants to confirm eligibility for participation.

- Long-term unemployed job seekers
- Mature-age job seekers (aged 45 years or older)
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Migrants and refugees from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- People with disability
- Displaced workers
- Women re-entering the workforce
- Veterans, ex-ADF personnel and their families
Only candidates who have not previously utilised the funding from this scheme are eligible.
