Group Financial Controller

Our client is one of Australia's leading retailers, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Backed by a major private equity group, the business is in an exciting period of growth and transformation.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller is the senior financial steward of the business. You will own group consolidation, financial reporting integrity and balance sheet governance, while leading a broad finance function across the whole business.
Leading a mid sized team, the key duties of the role will include but not be limited to:
- Lead month-end and year-end close across all entities; own group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Present consolidated monthly results and variance commentary to the Senior Leadership Team and Board
- Manage group cash flow forecasting
- Oversee AR, AP, Financial Accounting and franchise partner financial operations
- Provide executive oversight of the Internal Audit function and lead the annual external audit
- Lead finance transformation — process redesign, automation and reporting uplift
The ideal candidate for the role will be:
- CA or CPA qualified; Big 4 or mid-tier audit background preferred
- 10+ years in financial control, group reporting or corporate finance
- Proven experience leading multi-entity consolidations
- Strong track record leading complex, multi-site finance teams
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting at executive and board level
- Experience driving finance transformation — process re-engineering and systems optimisation
