Overview
You will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality financial reporting, robust financial control, and accounting advice on new products and transactions across the Institutional Banking, Markets, and Treasury businesses. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll support new product accounting, statutory reporting, hedge accounting, and month‑end processes while driving continuous improvement across finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting advisory on new products and transactions, including GL mapping and disclosure impacts.
- Month‑end reporting for the division
- Statutory reporting including preparation and review of financial statements and disclosure notes.
- Hedge accounting input in line with policy and procedures.
- Oversight of outsourced service providers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of assigned tasks.
- Monthly balance sheet analysis and commentary for the institutional bank.
- Coordinate intercompany processes, ensuring breaks are understood, supported, and reduced over time.
- Identify process weaknesses and contribute to risk mitigation, simplification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
- Tertiary qualification with CA / CPA (or equivalent).
- 3+ years’ financial accounting experience in a financial institution or banking environment; institutional/markets exposure preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, statutory reporting, and financial control.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with Oracle and strong Excel capability; Access and Power BI advantageous.
