Event Coordinator
Tourism Australia
At Tourism Australia, we know and love this land. We also know our people are our strength, their different experiences and backgrounds are the key to Tourism Australia’s success. Every day we share our passion with the world, sharing the story of Australia and our 65,000 years of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We are just as passionate about creating an incredible culture at Tourism Australia, recognizing and supporting the individuality of our people, in an environment where we learn and grow together.
About The Role
We’re looking for an Event Coordinator to join the engine room of the Tourism Australia Events team in a 12-month full-time contract position. In this pivotal junior role, you’ll support our Event Managers in delivering seamless experiences by managing the database and ensuring every critical deadline is hit with precision. You’ll be the architect behind our registration websites, managing participant data—from travel and accommodation to payments—while keeping our CRM and industry contact records sharp, accurate, and up to date.
Beyond the data and administration, you’ll be a champion for our stakeholders, providing professional, timely customer service to delegates and chasing down essential industry details like logos and insurance certifications.
This is a true 360-degree support role; one day you’ll be coordinating freight, badges, and procurement, and the next you’ll be onsite assisting with registration, signage, or food and beverage delivery. If you’re ready to dive into the nitty-gritty of event delivery and help us showcase the best of Australia to the world, we’d love to have you on board!
Our values are the start of our cultural story. They determine who we are today and who we will be tomorrow. We bring our values to life through the way we behave every day. Our values are:
- We think big and without borders… We have a proud history of doing innovative and ground-breaking work. And we’re not done yet.
- We make each other better… We’re one team. We value diversity and listen to all opinions before aligning on the best way forward, but robust discussion makes our work stronger.
- We do the right thing… We are respectful of communities, cultures, and the earth we all inhabit, and take our responsibility to care for all three seriously.
- We only do work that makes a difference… There’s so much we can do, and want to do, but we focus on the things that will add the most value to our industry.
- We’re obsessed with telling the Australian story… We’re passionate about Australia, her land, nature, people, and culture. And We’re proud of our role in sharing her story with the world.
