Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centre

Overview

We are partnering with a leading data centre developer and operator with a rapidly expanding footprint across the region. This organisation is at the forefront of digital infrastructure, delivering large-scale, high-performance data centre solutions for some of the world’s most demanding technology customers.

With a strong pipeline of developments and continued regional growth, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team and play a key role in shaping next-generation data centre design.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, this position sits at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and customer solutions. You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of reference design standards across a growing portfolio of facilities.

Key responsibilities include

• Providing subject matter expertise across electrical systems for data centre design and product development.
• Supporting the evolution of standardised reference designs across multiple APAC locations.
• Driving consistency, quality, and innovation across electrical specifications and engineering practices.
• Collaborating with internal teams (design, development, customer solutions) and external stakeholders including clients and suppliers.
• Contributing to technical strategy, innovation initiatives, and design optimisation efforts
• Supporting project delivery teams with technical guidance and design alignment
• Presenting technical concepts, updates, and innovations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and assess emerging electrical technologies for integration into design standards
• Maintain and develop technical documentation, specifications, and design guidelines
• Interface with key equipment suppliers to ensure alignment with design requirements
• Engage with customers on technical aspects of electrical infrastructure and solutions
• Support value engineering and assess commercial implications of design decisions
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and internal knowledge development
• Assist with early-stage planning including site selection and master planning considerations
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and sustainability targets

About You

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 8+ years’ experience in electrical design, with at least 5 years in data centre or mission-critical environments
• Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects (client-side, consultancy, or contractor)
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary building services design
• Experience with BIM and digital engineering tools
• Exposure to hyperscale or large-scale data centre environments highly regarded
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to value-driven design decisions
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
