Steel Erection State Manager

NORTHSIX is partnering with a well-established business in the engineering and infrastructure sector to appoint a State Manager – Engineering to lead project delivery across Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of the Engineering Division across the state, working closely with Tier 1 builders on major infrastructure and construction projects across Victoria.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of 30–35 engineers and graduate engineers
• Providing direction across Project Managers and Project/Site Engineers, both direct and indirect reports
• Working closely with workshop and fabrication teams to align delivery across site and production
• Overseeing projects to ensure safety, quality, cost and program outcomes are met
• Managing budgets, forecasting and overall division performance
• Supporting tenders, client relationships and business development
• Experience in steel erection/installation is essential

About you

• Strong background in steel installation, fabrication, site erection and industrial/infrastructure projects
• Relevant engineering degree
• 10+ years' experience across engineering, construction or infrastructure
• Proven track record leading teams, both direct and indirect
• Solid commercial acumen across P&L, forecasting and cost control
