About the role
This position is an Ambassador of Council and it is essential you have the ability to provide excellent customer service and operate in a consistent, fair and equitable manner at all times. While Animal management is the primary focus of this role; the following tasks also form part of the day‑to‑day responsibilities:
Monitoring declared Dangerous and Restricted breed dogs to ensure control requirements are in place and maintained.

Capturing, impounding, and transporting stray animals , including livestock. Attending and investigating illegal dumping and rubbish found on Council property. Managing abandoned vehicles , including investigation and potential impounding. Responding to pollution incidents on both land and water, including environmental management. Investigating breaches of building consent orders , noise issues, and times of operation. Managing Outdoor Dining and Retail consent permits . Responding to illegal or unlawful burn‑offs . Conducting investigations , compiling briefs of evidence, and giving evidence in court. Undertaking parking patrols , particularly during school times
About You
The successful candidate will have proven, extensive experience in Local Government Regulatory Enforcement or significant, relevant experience within the Regulatory or Law Enforcement sector.
You will also bring highly developed computer skills across Microsoft Office and key PCC software applications , including Outlook, Word, Excel, Transport for NSW RIS24, and PDA programs such as Duncan Solutions
You will also bring the below licences and Qualifications and / or level of experience.
- Holder of Ranger 1, 2 & or 3 Certificate of Competency and/or
- Holder of Certificate IV in Regulatory Services/Investigations and/or
- Other equivalent and relevant certificate to level IV competency and / or
- Extensive Rangers experience or other similar regulatory enforcement experience.
- Holder of current Class C driver’s licence. Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement
(Candidates may apply without holding a First Aid certificate, however, it remains an essential requirement under the Position Description and it must be obtained prior to commencement).
What’s on offer
Permanent Full Time position, working on a rotating roster which includes one weekend a month.
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $87,851.88 to $96,771.28 plus 12% superannuation, plus On Call allowance as per the Local Government Award 2023.
