Role Requirements

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the following criteria in your application:

  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and having at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience in a mental health specialty and in addition holding approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is to be appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people experiencing a first episode psychosis, and familiarity with contemporary Youth Mental Health service delivery models, including crisis intervention and family interventions.
  • Demonstrated high level clinical skills in mental health assessment, treatment planning and treatment delivery, including in providing complex care requiring autonomous clinical decision making.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills including developed skills in communication, problem solving and decision-making skills in relation to managing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
  • Commitment to consumer consultation and participation in service planning and delivery, policy development and implementation, priority setting and service evaluation and quality activities.
  • Current NSW Drivers licence (and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
