Anglicare Tasmania is seeking a permanent, part-time (38 hours fortnightly) Finance Officer based in Launceston.

Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to ageing and disability, health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.

About the Role

The Finance Officer provides administrative and accounting support to the Finance Unit.

The successful applicant will possess demonstrable competency, knowledge, understanding and/or skills in the following areas:

  • Strong data handling and data management skills;
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Ability to adapt to using different systems used throughout the organisation;
  • High degree of attention to detail for input of relevant data into finance system;
  • Interpersonal verbal communication and effective listening skills with ability to work effectively in a team environment, whilst also able to work independently to achieve required outcomes;
  • Experience in day to day accounting knowledge;
  • Maintaining data systems accurately and ensuring compliance with existing controls;
  • Maintaining confidentiality and exercise discretion in all aspects of the position; and
  • Organisational and time management skills with the ability to organise and plan own work priorities, including management of emails through multiple inboxes.
  • Proficiency and understanding (or ability to quickly gain) with the banking; finance system; and other business systems used by Anglicare.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check if you are applying for the 1st time or have renewed your registration since 1st February 2021;
  • present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
  • provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
  • provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.

On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
