About the role
As a Senior Claims Manager, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of complex life, disability and income protection claims, taking a holistic approach that supports members’ recovery, wellbeing and return to work. You’ll balance technical excellence with genuine care, working closely with members, employers, health professionals and internal stakeholders to deliver fair, timely and wellreasoned outcomes. Alongside your own caseload, you’ll play a key role in coaching and mentoring less experienced team members and helping lift overall capability.

- Manage a diverse portfolio of complex life, disability, and income protection claims.
- Implement proactive, holistic claims strategies that achieve strong outcomes for members and ART.
- Communicate with empathy and respect to understand each member’s medical, social and personal circumstances.
- Collaborate with employers, health professionals, rehabilitation and community services.
- Prepare clear written and verbal claims decisions, always ensuring privacy and compliance.
- Coach and mentor claims team members, sharing technical expertise to uplift capability.
- Champion continuous improvement opportunities to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to a supportive, high-performing team culture.
About you
You’re an experienced claims professional who brings sound judgement, resilience and compassion to complex situations. You’re comfortable making decisions, explaining them clearly, and supporting others to grow.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in holistic claims management.
- Experience within the life and/or disability insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of early intervention, rehabilitation, community and health services.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decisionmaking skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (desirable)
- Experience coaching or mentoring others in claims management (desirable)
