Senior Safety and Quality Advisor

About the role

Provide leadership in Rail Safety, Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Management across Office of Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery (OMTID) projects. This role is the key point of contact for safety and quality matters, ensuring effective monitoring, auditing and compliance across projects, contractors and consultants, while embedding the Public Transport Authority and OMTID Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System.

You will deliver expert advice to project teams, manage audit and inspection programs, review Rail Safety plans, and ensure corrective actions drive continuous improvement. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the role supports strong governance, timely reporting and consistent, high‑quality safety outcomes across major transport infrastructure projects.

About You!

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Relevant safety and/or quality qualification (or equivalent practical experience), with strong knowledge of WA Health and Safety legislation, the Rail Safety National Law, and awareness of potential future Work Health and Safety requirements.
• Demonstrated experience applying safety and quality management principles within high‑risk or complex environments, including a sound understanding of operating railway systems, particularly 25kV electrified railways.
• Proven leadership and management capability, including experience in management roles, providing clear direction and support to achieve planned outcomes.
• Highly developed communication, analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, prioritise competing demands and deliver effective solutions.

You will be working in the Office of Major Transport Project Delivery responsible for delivering the high value and high complex major transport projects. There is currently one fixed term opportunity available to 31 October 2029 with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency.
