As we continue to evolve into a data driven, AI enabled organisation, we are seeking a Data Business Analyst to help ensure our data is trusted, well governed and fit for purpose across the enterprise driven, AI enabled organisation, we are seeking a governed and fit for purpose across the enterprise.

Your opportunity

Working across a complex matrix of business and IT stakeholders, the Data Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in maintaining the understanding, quality and integrity of Anglicare’s data as we build strategic platforms to better serve our clients.

Partnering closely with the Senior Data Architect and business stakeholders, you will help translate business concepts into enterprise data models, establish and embed data governance practices, and ensure data is accessible, consistent and reliable to drive both operational and strategic decision making and enable innovation through AI.

With integrity and resilience, you will

  • Work with our business stakeholders to understand and document key data concepts

  • Work with a data modeller to design and maintain conceptual and logical data models

  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of data governance concepts and standards, including data ownership, business glossaries, data quality rules, validation checks and documentation

  • Maintain Anglicare’s data catalogue by documenting data definitions, lineage and metadata to improve transparency and shared understanding

  • Monitor data quality metrics, identify inconsistencies or anomalies and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues

  • Work closely with business and technology teams to understand requirements, ensure compliance with data and security policies and optimise data processes and workflows

What you’ll bring

  • Strong expertise in enterprise data concepts and data modelling (conceptual and logical)

  • Solid understanding of data governance principles including data ownership, stewardship, data quality, lineage, metadata management and data security

  • Experience using data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview or BigID

  • Understanding of business process modelling and how data supports end-to-end processes

  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels to extract and articulate data value

  • Knowledge of Australian data privacy regulations

  • Strong communication, influencing and mentoring skills

Additional skills (desirable)

  • Experience working with Databricks and/or Snowflake or other SQL based databases.

  • Knowledge of non-for-profit and/or aged care industries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field

  • 3–5 years’ proven experience in data governance and data analysis

  • Experience working across business analysis, security and data architecture domains
