The construction industry is booming, and there’s never been a better time to kickstart your career! Shadforth are currently seeking expressions of interest for our next Civil Ready Training Program commencing 15th June 2026. Through the six week training course, in partnership with CSQ, you will gain the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in Civil Construction.

At the end of the training program, successful candidates will be formally signed into a permanent full-time employment agreement as a Civil trainee and will complete their full qualification in Certificate III in Civil Construction.

Program Overview

  • 3 weeks classroom theory and practical skills training, based at our training centre in Wacol
  • 3 weeks paid onsite work experience, at allocated projects throughout the Brisbane West Region.
  • Gain an understanding of the civil industry requirements, standards and terminology used.
  • Learn about safety and compliance work practices
  • Completion of 5 nationally recognised units of competency from the resource industry training package including industry white card, WHS and Basic tool use.
  • Learn valuable life skills including basic budgeting, resume construction and employability skills, personal health and wellbeing, and industry career pathways.

Eligibility

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • A good work ethic and strong desire for a career in civil construction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong understanding of safety and manual handling techniques
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for working outdoors and physically fit to perform manual tasks

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current drivers licence and reliable transport
  • WHS Construction Industry Induction (White Card (or willingness to obtain))
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday 6:30am to 5:00pm and 1/2 day Saturdays as required
  • Must not hold previous qualifications in Civil Construction
