About the role
The Engineering Project Supervisor (Electrical) is responsible for safely and efficiently managing the execution of site-based electrical and asset improvement projects within the High Voltage Projects team at Mount Isa Mines. The role focuses on delivering complex projects in line with safety, quality, financial, and performance targets while ensuring effective planning and coordination of site works. This position works closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams and reports directly to the Senior Electrical Engineer – High Voltage Projects, supporting the successful delivery of project outcomes across site.
Key responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver electrical projects ensuring compliance with standards and budgets
Develop detailed project execution plans and define resource requirements
Coordinate labour and manage site works to ensure safe execution
Manage contractor and project personnel performance to maximise efficiency
Plan proactively to minimise downtime and unplanned shutdowns
Provide regular project reporting and financial tracking
Maintain effective relationships with operations, maintenance, and technical teams
Conduct safety inspections, audits, and workplace observations
Ensure compliance with HSEC systems, Glencore protocols, and site standards
Manage risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are in place
Maintain accurate project records and documentation (permits, JSEAs, compliance)
Support maintenance and shutdown activities as required
Mentor junior and graduate engineers within the team
Ensure all work is completed by competent, trained, and authorised personnel
About you – skills and experience
The successful candidate will have proven experience supervising and delivering electrical or multi-disciplinary engineering projects within a mining, industrial, or heavy industry environment. The role requires strong leadership capability, contractor management experience, and the ability to coordinate complex site-based work safely and efficiently. A strong understanding of safety, compliance, and project delivery frameworks is essential, along with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive performance outcomes across project teams.
You will bring

Trade qualification, Engineering Diploma, or Certificate IV in Project Management
Experience delivering complex electrical or multi-disciplinary projects
Strong contractor and construction management capability
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage time, cost, and project performance effectively
Strong knowledge of plant operations and maintenance constraints
Experience facilitating risk assessments and project review meetings
Solid understanding of Australian standards and WHS requirements
Proven ability to manage and resolve workplace conflicts
Experience with quality assurance, compliance, and project documentation
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and mentor others
Ability to work in high-risk environments while maintaining safety focus
