About the Role

MUFG Retirement Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Platform Services Owner – Digital Applications to own and lead the performance, evolution, and strategic direction of critical digital application platforms.

This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring our platforms are resilient, secure, scalable, and user‑centred—supporting both our operational needs and customer experience. Operating as a leader within Digital Product and Services domain in technology, you will partner closely with engineering, architecture, service management, cyber security, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure platforms deliver measurable business value and meet regulatory obligations.

You will have end‑to‑end accountability across platform strategy, service performance, lifecycle planning, delivery alignment, and continuous improvement for your assigned platform domain.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Platform Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the end‑to‑end strategy, roadmap, lifecycle, and continuous improvement plan for the assigned platform.
  • Ensure platform design, capability uplift, and investment priorities align with enterprise strategy and business needs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the platform’s users, value proposition, dependencies, risks, and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead platform optimisation, consolidation opportunities, lifecycle refresh, and technology debt reduction activities.
  • Define clear platform KPIs, success measures, and performance outcomes.

Operational Excellence & Delivery

  • Ensure platform availability, resilience, performance, and service levels are consistently met.
  • Oversee incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management in collaboration with Service Management.
  • Drive uplift in operational maturity, documentation, knowledge management, and support processes.
  • Manage platform enhancements through structured discovery, prioritisation, and backlog management.
  • Champion user‑centred design, accessibility, simplicity, and friction‑reduction across digital experiences.
  • Support testing strategies, release planning, and rollout coordination to minimise disruption.
  • Apply technical expertise to independently challenge, validate, and critically analyse inputs from engineering teams, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with business objectives

Vendor, Risk & Regulatory Management

  • Manage key vendor relationships, ensuring delivery against contractual and service obligations.
  • Support procurement, renewals, and commercial assessments aligned to platform strategy.
  • Maintain platform risk registers, control documentation, and business continuity artefacts.
  • Ensure compliance with MUFG policies, regulatory requirements, and operational resilience expectations.
  • Proactively manage cyber controls, vulnerabilities, audit actions, and risk remediation.

People & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead and develop high‑performing, multidisciplinary teams including platform specialists, analysts, and vendor resources.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for platform performance, roadmap progress, risks, and change impacts.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with business leaders, operations, risk, finance, and transformation partners.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • 10+ yrs of proven experience owning or managing complex technology platforms, enterprise systems, or digital product portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of platform operations, service management, system integration, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience translating business needs into platform roadmaps, features, and delivery priorities.
  • Demonstrated incident management, operational leadership, and vendor management capability.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts simply.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess risks, opportunities, and operational impacts of the managed platforms.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in regulated or complex technology environments.
  • A customer‑centric mindset with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in ITIL, Agile, Product Management, Cloud, or Service Management.
  • Experience within financial services or customer‑facing digital platforms
