The Opportunity

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team at our Ballarat Head Office.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the timely and accurate collection of outstanding accounts, while supporting strong financial processes and delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing and monitoring debtor accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Following up outstanding debts in line with credit management policies
  • Processing invoices, statements, payments, journals and credit notes
  • Conducting collections via phone, email and written correspondence
  • Managing customer queries and resolving account discrepancies
  • Negotiating payment plans and supporting dispute resolution
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of collection activity
  • Supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives within Finance
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in an accounts receivable or similar finance role
  • Understanding of accounting principles and credit/collection practices
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Resilience and professionalism when handling difficult conversations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly regarded)
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Relevant qualifications in Business, Finance or a related field are preferred but not essential.
