Reporting to the General Manager Gas Operations, we have an opportunity available for a Head of Asset Operations to join our team in Victoria (Dandenong or Melbourne CBD). This role is responsible for the leadership and development of our Asset Operations team while delivering end to end operations of our gas infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and guide decisions, risks and the prioritisation of activities across the business unit for the operated asset, in line with delegated authority.
- Act as the key relationship holder with local and state regulators in the role of PIC or SSM, building trust and ensuring effective engagement.
- Approve and shape asset strategies and lifecycle plans within a two year horizon, balancing performance, risk and value.
- Lead the delivery of integrated works plans, ensuring alignment across operations, maintenance and support functions.
- Oversee contractor performance and strategy, including contractor reviews, to drive safe, effective and reliable outcomes.
- Lead people outcomes across the team, including capability development, succession planning, culture and industrial relations strategy
Your background
- You bring a strong commitment to asset safety, with experience across people, process safety and environmental outcomes.
- You have experience leading and developing operations teams, building capability, accountability and performance.
- You have managed gas transmission assets within defined standards and frameworks, ensuring customer requirements are met while maintaining safe and reliable operations.
- You are confident owning and managing risk within established frameworks, applying sound judgement in line with delegated authority.
- You have experience managing operating budgets, including asset operating and capital expenditure within approved limits.
- You take ownership of planning and scheduling activities, ensuring work is effectively planned and delivered safely, while maintaining asset availability to meet customer demand.
