Festival & Events Officer (Casual)

Working under the guidance of the Festivals & Events Coordinator, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of a wide range of festivals and events.

You’ll be involved in everything from logistics and stakeholder coordination to marketing support and post-event evaluations — no two days will be the same!

Key Responsibilities

In this varied and hands-on role, you will:

  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of festivals and events
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors and consultants
  • Support event evaluation and administration processes
  • Engage with community members, stakeholders and partners to encourage participation
  • Identify sponsorship opportunities and support business partnerships
  • Assist with grant research and applications
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of event marketing strategies
  • Provide general support to the Festivals & Events Coordinator

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Working with Children (Blue Card)
  • QLD ‘C’ Class Driver Licence (or ability to obtain)

Experience

  • Experience assisting with event planning, coordination and delivery
  • Experience supporting marketing and communication strategies
  • Exposure to events and sponsorship coordination

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to engage positively with a wide range of stakeholders and the public
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work within budget constraints
  • Willingness to undertake physical duties during event setup and delivery

Knowledge

  • Understanding of community event and festival delivery
  • Knowledge of marketing materials and promotional activities
  • Awareness of sponsorship practices and grant opportunities

Desirable

  • Qualification in Event Management, Marketing ora related field
  • Experience with sponsorship strategies, contract management or website maintenance
  • Understanding of risk management and social media marketing platforms
